2008 Make a Difference Campaign

“Empowering Individuals to Change the World” is at the heart of CCI’s foundation, and we live that mission with passion. As the 2008 Make a Difference Campaign kicks off, CCI’s desire is to involve individuals in our industry and communities in changing the world!

We often hear people ask what changing the world has to do with Land Records Management. Great question! The function of our business is developing excellent software solutions while providing first class customer service. However, our greater purpose is to facilitate individuals in living more fulfilled lives, making a difference in the community, and thinking a little bigger than the day before.

We invite and encourage you to join our campaign, to tell others about it, and to change the world along the way!

Contributions can be made until 12 pm EST on February 26, 2008. A reception at the GIS/CAMA conference in New Orleans, February 24-28, will highlight the top three winners of this year’s challenge. Winners will then have the opportunity to select a charity to donate their CCI-sponsored prize money of $300, $200, and $100, respectively.

Contestants will be evaluated for awards based upon the following:

  • Uniqueness of idea
  • Sustainability (please include how long you intend for your pledge to be in effect)
  • Inspiration it will provide for others to change the world

Please make your pledge below and indicate the frequency and duration of your pledge.

Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and desire to change the world!

For me, once I heard the appalling statistics about human trafficking, I knew I had to do something. The U COUNT Campaign recognizes the unique value of every human life, and seeks to secure the right of every global citizen to a life of freedom, and the hope of a future reaching their individual full potential. Did you know one pint of blood can save three lives? One pint of blood contains four blood products which are red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. It takes 4-100 units of red blood cell for accident victims,1-4 units red blood cells for premature babies in intensive care. It takes 6-10 units of platelets for kidney, liver, and bone marrow transplants, Leukemia, open heart surgery. It takes 2-20 units of plasma for liver transplant and open heart surgery. It only takes 10 minutes of your time to share the most precious gift "LIFE". Ask me how I know. I have saved LIVES and my LIFE was SAVED by someone who share 10 minutes of their time to donating blood. I wish I could have personally told them "Thank you". Blood products isn't always readily avaliable due to shortages especially during the summer. During Hurrican Katrina there was a blood shortage. I encourage each organization to promote blood drives and encourage associates through small incentives. Share Blood, Share Life. This is my pledge.

Fort Collins has wonderful weather and wonderful bike lanes to most parts of town. From where I live very few places are more than five miles one way. Five miles on my cruiser bike takes about ten minutes longer each way. This is a pledge driven partly by environmental concerns, but it's more for myself - the exercise is good and the opportunity to relax and reflect is wonderful. While I am only making a pledge for myself, it is inspired partly by my two sons, one of whom has done nearly 100% of his less than five mile/no heavy load trips (almost all his trips) with alternative transport (bike and bus) for two years and the other who has recently made that decision. By the way, we don't consider a laptop or the normal tri-weekly groceries to be a heavy load. Toilet paper, multiple galllons of bottled water, recyclables donations, and the cello are heavy loads.
